The Lot

So part of our tax rebate this year we decided to invest in a nice tent to do some camping with the kids. We bought the tent in May and it sat and sat and sat until last weekend. Jeff had trained so hard for the spudman this year, he was so excited to get into this race, it was the first one he signed up for this year. And when we did our triathlon at Blacktail a few weeks ago he injured himself so he had to pull out of the race, which is so disappointing. We lost the $65 registration fee and the race that Jeff was looking forward to so much. So a weekend opened up! We decided to take the kids to Jeff's parents lot in Ogden canyon for some camping. The kids had a blast, the tent was a huge success, the kids slept very soundly except for Tori of course. They all got to spend some nice quality time with Grandpa and Grandma and Chris and Michelle. And hopefully Gabe got a fill of the 4 wheeling action, because he got rides most of Saturday when we were there. Here are a few pictures of our trip.

Pictures of the kids

My sis-in-law Jenn sent me these way cute pictures of the kids and I wanted to share them with you. Aren't they all so cute!

At your mercy

It is funny to see the how big sister and little brothers work. Gabriel is totally at Kelsi's mercy. She can make him dress up in a princess dress, play Prince Phillip, from Sleeping Beauty, all day, she can make him do all of her dirty work. If she wants something Gabe has its hers, she will take it. So the latest thing I caught her doing is pulling out all her new school clothes and making Gabe tell her how pretty they all were. So Gabriel would dryly remark after each outfit how beautiful it was. Then when she got done he yelled out I dont like any of them and ran off. (Yea for Gabe!) But then Kelsi tracked him down and made him do it all over again. The poor kid is getting great lessons on how to treat girls later on, grin and say you like it... whatever you do or we will nag you until we get the answer we want!

Scooby Doo

Gabriel likes to use my whisks as guitars. I got a clip of him using his "guitar" and singing Scooby Doo. His favorite song.

First Day Of School

Kelsi started her first day of school today. She was so excited to sit down and visit with her teacher and to learn how school is going to work and what they will be doing. She will be doing some testing tomorrow and starts going by herself next week!

Family Reunion

This year for Jeff's family reunion his brother Brian's family was in charge and they planned a day at the zoo and some more activities in the evening. There was a lot of activities to do and thankfully the zoo thought ahead for the heat and had couple of things for the kids to do.

A Memory

A Memory

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Gabe's cast is off

We got Gabriel's cast off today. We walked in and Gabe immediately looked at the doctor and said get it off. He woke up early because he was so excited to get it off. So now he is in a ace wrap and we were under strict instructions for no running or jumping... ha I would have to tie the kid down, this will be interesting. We go back in 10 more days and hopefully we are done!

Weekend at My Parents

We spent the weekend at my dad and mom's house this weekend. My brother Eric and his wife's family were down for a family reunion. By the way Kami I loved your family. They are the sweetest people. They were so fun to talk with! We were able to kick back and relax and visit most of the time. Granted we pretty tired and a little heat exhausted so we were not the greatest company but I enjoyed watching everyone. When we came home from the triathlon the backyard was getting flooded and the kids (young and old) had a lot of fun in it

Poor Gabe still could not get in the water with his cast so they pulled him around on the tube so
he could enjoy it to.

Gabriel is saving the bug from the water, then he wanted me to save him from the bug!

Then when the little kids were done and shivering on the deck the older kids got to play ultimate frisbee in the water. They had a lot of fun playing in the water and it makes diving for the frisbee a much more enjoyable experience! This is a little clip of the game.

Later that evening we all got to pig out on some homemade huckleberry ice cream on top of some apple - huckleberry pie! Now if that is not a reward for a race I dont know what it is, because it was one of the best things I have had!

Here are a few more shots of our fun weekend!

The guys were shooting the guns at the target. We were going to get Gabe to try and he got to nervous. He preferred shooting next to dad with his wood gun!

Blacktail

Well time to toot our horns again. This saturday me, Jeff, Eric (my brother) and ChristyAnne (my sister in law's sister) finished the Blacktail Triathalon. This triathalon was voted by USAT (USA Triathalon) the most difficult triathlon in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. I completed a 1/2 miles, 13 mile bike ride and a 3 mile run in 2 hours and 3 minutes. 6th in my age division. Jeff finished a 1 mile swim, 26 mile bike ride and 6 mile run in 3 hours and 4 minutes. He was 7th overall, I am not sure about his placement in his age division yet. It was insane race. The weather was perfect for racing and the water temperature was just right as well. The bike course is an insanely hard course Just to get a feel for the bike course here is a shot of the hill you start the bike ride on and it still goes on after this shot.
We started the hill climb way down there by the water. The rest of the bike ride is all hills, just not as insane as this one.

We ended and started at the bottom of this hill. Then we moved on to the run which was a trail run loop. It was a nice run course.
Here is a couple of beautiful shots of us in the race.

Here I am finishing the bike course, you cant ride your bike into the transition area so here I am running it down.
