Frustration

Ok here is another update on Tory.... we went to the cardiologist on Monday and in my opinion the guy had all ready written us off before he came in the room. They did another EKG on her and it was normal. This is what I got out of the conversation. We dont really deal with "breath holders" "Even if her heart rate got to low when she held her breath we wont do anything about it." "We will exam the results of her heart monitor when you get it back, by they way how long are you suppose to wear it"... ummm didn't he send in the order, should'nt he know these things. "We will let you know if there is anything concerning when we review the data, otherwise you wont hear from us again." UGGGGHHHH Good news out of all of that there is nothing wrong with her heart.
So my frustation is that yes I know that breath holding is a normal things for kids to do and that they will eventualy grow out of it, (but she is definitly on the way high end of the scale) which seems to be our answer right now. Which of course is the best answer possible... but in the mean time I have to watch Tory hold her breath 2 - 3 times a day and have seizures constantly. Today alone she has had 2 seizures and each one still makes my heart race and leaves me overwhelming upset and frustrated. I dont know where to look for answers anymore and I hate watching my little baby do this to herself. She wont remember any of this I am sure and will grow up normal and healthy but I think I am going to have nightmares forever about this.
What we are going to try to do is keep her as well rested as possible since they tend to happen more when she is tired and hope she grows out of it quickly. ( every finger possible crossed )
Thanks for reading my pity me party......

Daddy Daughter Time

Jeff and Kelsi spent the evening together last night while I was at spin. Side note, I love spin and esp my wendsday teacher, I always leave feeling great. Anyways Kelsi and Jeff made individual pizza's together while we were gone. She was so excited, she was dancing and singing as I made my way upstairs so excited to show off what they did. So I had to take a picture of Kelsi and her pizza. She loves her cookbook and is asking me daily when she can make next. She is even taking it to show and tell today.

What's going on pictures

I rememered my camera last night so here is the pictures that went along with my previous post.

This is a typical evening in my parents home. Gabe would keep saying over and over "I can do it" or " I am super dog " Blake and Madalyn are in the background.

Eric and Christy. Christy is almost always the instegator on these things, followed closely by dad.

Blake, Christy, me and Eric... notice who is the shrimp in the family.

Just because Eric was teasing about all these going on the blog... here's another one.

I wanted to show this off. This is the gift Blake brought us... I can't believe he did it all by hand, all the detail is amazing.

Whats going on

I keep forgetting to pull the camera out of the car so I dont have any pictures to post this time. I also forget it to take some good photo oportunities. Darn. This weeekend my littlest brother came home from his mission in Argentina. It was great to see him. He brought us a gorgeous gift from Argentina. It is hard to explain without doing it justice, when I get the camera out of the car I will have to take a picture. It is a picture of the Idaho Falls temple (the temple we were married in) hand etched into a leather banner. Jeff also got a new jersey from the rival soccer teams in Argentian, according to Blake Bocca is the best. So we are going to be watching Real's schedule to see if they are coming to play soon. I enjoyed being with everyone and seeing everyone. My brother Eric came from Arizona as well, which I was excited about as well. It is fun being together as a family and it dosent happen more then once a year for us, well two now since Blake has been gone. We missed Kami a lot, but we are very excited to come and see you in May.
On Monday me and the kids went with the Flint Family to the Draper Temple Open House. It was a beautiful temple. It will be nice one of these days to be able to do a session in there. If Tory ever lets me go anywhere. This was point 2 of being disappointed I forget the camera. They had a lot of good photo opportunties at the end of it.
Tory is getting her heart monitor this morning and we will begin recording her "episodes." Her iron levels jumped a point and a half which is encouraging and her pediatrician recommends keeping her on the iron for another 6 weeks. We have an appointment with the cardiolgoist on Monday. We also found Tory's first tooth last night which may explain her extra grouchiness lately. I have been worn out because she wont go to anyone else including Jeff and she is always wanting held otherwise she follows me around crying and passing out. So I have been very frustrated lately that I can not seem to get anything done, the wooes of being a mom I suppose.
Some good news, Jeff is going to get his yearly bonus, his bonus is determined by a percent of growth the company had and they barely squeaked by this year. So after Uncle Sam has taken most of it for taxes a little debt relief is in the future. Followed hopefully by a nice tax return to finish off some debt relief. With hopefully a little left over for my March birthday maddness, (Jeff, Gabe and Tory)
So I suppose that is the latest of my rambling. I will try my best to remember the camera out of the car tonight and the few pictures I got on.

The Latest On Tory

Here is the latest on Tory. I just got off the phone with the neurologist and this is what he had to say: We are canceling the MRI, we dont feel it is necessary to go through with it. I am also taking her off the benadryl, all it does is make her hyper and not take naps, which leads to grouchy and tired Tory which leads to more passing out. We were debating on putting her on atrapin (sp) for awhile, it was suppose to increase the blood flow to help Tory with the passing out, but the neuroligst did research on it last night and it has to be exact and could be lethal if given incorrectly and has not been proven to be effective. So we are not going to be putting her on that medicine.
What lies ahead: I am going to take Tory to her pediatrcian and get her iron levels checked to see if they are back to normal. We will be seeing a cardiologist within a week and a half (hopefully) and they are going to take it from here. She will probably wear a holter heart monitor to record what her heart does during theese breath holding spells. It sounds like things are leading back to her heart and hopefully the cardiology department will have some more answers for us.
We are concerned that she is not been really responisive to the normal treatments for breath holding and the frequency that she has these episodes. Hopefully the cardiology department will give us some more answers!

She's got it figured out

Kelsi came home from school today. She told me that she had made a new friend today at school. So I start asking a few basic questions, name: Jojo, what did you do today: play together at play time, are you going to play tomorrow: yes, we are going to play all the time now, Is Jojo a girl or boy: boy and he says he is going to do whatever I want. He's cute.

Crap we have to all ready lock her up!

Kelsi's new room

This has been my project this week. We moved Kelsi downstairs so she can have her own room. She really likes it. She plays in her room all the time now. We found the headboard for $50.00 and stripped the old paint and repainted. It is an antique bed, it is very nice. We painted the room pink because Kelsi insisted on having a pink room. I also found the brand new bed set on ebay for .99, it was a steal! Its a very cute girly room!

Update on Tory

Thank you all so much for your fasting, prayers and thoughts for Tory. I have definitly felt them and feel more comforted knowing we have so many people around to help.
Tory has been having seizures lately. Her two episodes this week both happened after her breath holding spells. We have seen a Nerologist at Primary Childrens and we are working with them to determine a cause. We did a bunch of tests on Friday and I got the results from those this morning. She had an EKG, and EEG and some iron studies. The iron studies came back low, which we knew they would and the EEG came back normal. So the neuroligst think that these seizures are happening due to a lack of oxygen to her brain during her breath holding spells. So we are now working on trying to find a way to stop her breath holding. We are doing iron supplements which are suppose to get her iron levels back to normal and are somehow linked with blood being pumped to her brain faster. We are seeing a cardiologist at Primary Childrens to see if there is anything wrong with her heart to help blood / oxygen get to her brain faster. We are also putting her on a steady dose of Infant Benadryl, which is somehow linked to improving the breath holding (?)
I am also scheduling an MRI to make sure there is not an abnomality in her brain and she is not one of those under 5% that have a seizure disorder that did not show up on the other tests. Depenedent on what the neurologist thinks on thursday after Tory has been on the bendaryl will determine if she will go through with the MRI, but we will have the appointment at least set up if she determines it necessary.
So I am petrified right now of Tory holding her breath and getting to upset. She passed out 3 times yesterday. It is very comforting to know that her tests came back normal and that there is a good chance she dosent have a seizure disorder and she is in no immediate danger. We will keep plugging along and try to find answers and what ever we do dont upset Tory!

Tory

I dont want to go into a lot of details right now but Tory is having some medical problems right now and we could use the extra thoughts and prayers in her behalf.

Thanks

Utah creams Alabama

We watched Utah cream Alabama in the Sugar Bowl last night! It was such a good game, I was preparing myself to console a very upset Jeff as Utah got wasted but boy was I very pleasantly surprised when Utah killed Alabama. If you have ever watched a football game with Jeff you will understand his emotional attachment to the game. Here a few shots of him as he was watching the game.

Happy New Year

I hope you all had a fun and happy new year..... we are boring people who have not made it to midnight on new years eve for several years, it'll still be the new year when we wake up :)
But just to get it started off right I had a funny kid post, this one is Kelsi

Me at 11:30 p.m. 12/31/08: Kelsi go to sleep and sleep in tomorrow morning
Kelsi: Why (very grumpy)
Me: So you wont be a grouch tomorrow
Kelsi: I am always a grouch!

Guess you cant fight that logic
