We have had such a fun weekend together, we need some rest from our R & R! Jeff had Thursday and Friday off of work so we got a nice 4 day weekend together. To kick it off we had a "sleepover" together in the family room downstairs. Which is the most relaxing way to rest. Gabe kicked me all night with his cast! Tori was up 3 times and the couch is not the most comfortable place to sleep. So then we had planned an early morning trail run in the mountains, so we got up nice and refreshed to get the kids to the babysitter and took off for a 5 mile run. Which was so nice! Then we came home and got the kids ready to go and see Kung Fu Panda, which is such a cute movie. We laughed through out most of the movie and the kids adored it. They are still arguing over who gets to be the good tiger. Then to top the day off, because we were not to tired yet, we went to the Centerville firework show. Which had some live bands and a fun firework show. Kelsi has been afraid of fireworks for several years now, and she was so proud of herself, because she said she was brave and did not get scared this time.
The 4th, my brother Eric, his wife Kami and her sister were driving through and I got them talked into coming and stopping by for lunch, when I got off the phone and realized the house was a complete disaster so we turned into panic mode and scrubbed the house to make it presentable for a couple hours and you have to time this just right, if you wait to long the house is back to a disaster! So just as we were getting the last of the dishes and the lunch cooked they showed up and Kelsi and Gabe had a blast with them showing off all their stuff and all the new things they have learned. When they decided to head on to my parents house we decided to take advantage of the shade in the backyard and start on the deck, which was the original plan for the weekend. With one side of the railing done we decided to call it a night. Then the Layton and Kaysville fireworks went off and we got to watch them from the deck. So 3 nights down of getting the kids to bed around 11. Today started off with more training for the triathlon, then a little shopping and now our turn to watch kids for our date night exchange. So Jeff is pleading the deck and out working on some more sanding and I have 6 kids to watch and a grumpy baby! Maybe I should go change places! So I am keeping my fingers crossed tomorrow will be a lot more relaxing... But it has been such a fun filled, memory filled weekend! I have loved it!

Wow! you sure were busy! How does your date exchange work? My friend has one in twin falls, and was telling me a little about it.
Sounds like a busy, but fun, weekend!
What we do is there is 4 families that do it with us and every Friday one of the families watch all the other kids. So once a month you are overwhelmed with a ton of kids but the other 3 nights of the month you get a nice date out. It has been really nice, we have loved being a part of it.
I love that idea. It would never work for us though. If we exchanged evenly with other families, we'd have 20 kids to watch! Take advantage of that deal while you have it!
Oh we normally have around 12 kids, a couple of families were out of town for the holiday
