Let's go fly a kite

We had a very productive Saturday yesterday. We got raspberry bushes planted, the garage cleaned, the house cleaned up, got Jeff to watch Twilight with me ( he thought it was ok ) and the most important was we got to take the kids on a walk to the park and got to fly their kites.
They had a lot of fun, it was a perfect day to take the kites out and they had a lot of fun. I love watching Jeff with the kids he is such a good dad, he takes the time to sit with the kids and teach them how to do things, like flying a kite, and he has fun doing it to, where as I get frustrated to easily, he's a good example for me. Here is a few pictures of our fun time at the park.

Happy Birthday Tory

Our baby just turned a year old... man it went by fast and slow at the same time. Victoria is such a sweet little baby. She has the biggest most infectious smile and giggle. She has brought so much happiness to us and gray hair! Here are a few pictures of Tory on her birthday. I tried hard to get one of her smiling, guess she wasn't in the mood, to much other stuff going on!

Bath Time! Her favorite thing of the day! Sorry mom -- there was a nice chocolate and pink ring around her tub.

Batman Birthday Boy

Gabriel turned 4 years old yesterday. He had a great day. He had a totally packed Batman day! He even had us sing Happy Birthday Batman to go with his Batman cake. Here are a few pictures of Gabe on his fun day.
We had a few family and friends over to celebrate with us last night and we appreciate you for coming and celebrating Gabe and Tory's birthday with us!
Gabe's such a fun little boy, he makes us laugh and smile so much, we love this big guy. He is such a sweet and sensitive kid to, he is always the first in line to give us a "hug so tight it pops your head off" or to tell us I like / love you. Gabriel is in such an easy going kid. He is such a smart kid and trys his hardest to make us happy and to do what he is asked to do.
We hope you had a great birthday Gabe! We love you!

Randomish

Here is a bunch of random things all thrown together in one post.

Kelsi decided to tell us jokes the other day, it is funny how they come up with these things, here is a couple of her jokes.

Dad why was there only one car at the gas station? Cuz it was a girl car
Dad how come the flag was at the top of the post? Cuz it was watching the shapes in the clouds.
Dad how come Batman saved the kitty in the tree? Cuz he wanted to
Dad why did the car jump over the house? To play with the dog in the backyard
Dad why did the horse run over to his owner? Cuz it wanted to go on a horse ride
Dad why did the cereal get eaten up magically? Cuz the mouse ate it up

Crazy kids

She also wrote down a note to me dictated from Gabe... I love the way she is spelling and sounding out things. This note is in regards to the Batman Lego Game I mentioned earlier:

I Like thes - but I like the batman gam sow let me pla it naw mom and dad

Gabe had fun with his cousin on Saturday evening. My cousin Amanda came over to have dinner and play games with us... by the way kicked our can at Scene It Seinfeld, but we got them back with Scene It Harry Potter. Gabe took to Noah really well and had a lot of fun with him until Noah came downstairs because Gabe wacked him on the hand with a drum stick. When we were talking about it to him later Jeff said Gabe do you want me to hit you with this drum stick, holding the orange drumstick and he said no I did not hit him with that. So Jeff sits it down confused on what happened and picks up the yellow drumstick and Gabe announed oh yea I hit him with that one. After we got that taken care of they seem to have a lot of fun together. Gabe is asking where Noah is now.... hopefully he wont be to scared of Gabe and come back and play some time... I promise our kids should know better!

Other randomnish is an update on Tory, she is on Keppra right now which is an anti convulsive medication and it seems to be helping, she is a much happier baby and seems to be doing pretty good on it. The seizures have not stopped however, even on the medication. They are happening a lot less but are still happening, usually revolving around being hurt. AKA teeting has a new level at our house... so when she does have a seizure now they are longer, more intense and more draining on her. I talked to the neurologist again and they are concerned that she is still having them so we are taking her in for an MRI at the end of the month. Which I am relieved about, I have heard a few to many horror stories on if we had only done that test we could have caught this problem. Plus I know that anti convulsive are a good treatment for a number of different things, however we and the neurologist are wondering if we are treating an underlying neurological disorder since she has responded to the medication. So I guess more updates on that at the end of the month when we do the MRI

Tory is also almost standing on her own, she can do it for probably a few seconds until she realizes what she is doing and plops back down. I also just caught her climbing up the stairs and had to save her this morning from herself as she pulled a bowl of cereal milk on her head. She is definitly moving into the will mess up everything in your house stage.

We have a couple of birthdays this week, Gabriel turns four on Thursday and is having a Batman birthday and Tory is turning one on Saturday. Man times flies bye.

Anyways time to go my demanding little one is tired of her graham cracker and wants her attention or to go get into another mess which ever comes first.

Why we are McDonalds people

Since today was Jeff's birthday we decided to take the family out for a nice dinner. We took the kids out to Applebee's, which is Kelsi's favorite restaurant. We went in with high hopes and lots of threats, we walked in with smiles on our faces and antispating a nice dinner and left with screaming kids and scowls on our faces.... here is how the evening went.
It started well, as we were looking over the menu Gabe kept reaching over and giving Jeff big hugs and telling him happy birthday, being our little charmer. Kelsi sat and colored and talked about school and Tory played with the crayons not being used. Then we ordered drinks for ourselves and Kelsi and Gabe, and me and Jeff not thinking about Tory ordered a Pepsi and Mt Dew and of course when she saw us taking drinks she wanted one, so we would take the kids drinks to let her have a sip and of course Gabe threw a fit about that. Then once we got the waitress's attention we got Tory her own drink. By then Kelsi remember her obsession with public restrooms and "had to go really really bad, really" So she went and then Gabe had to go. So after the first bathroom break the waitress came and took the order. 2 minutes later Gabe is complaining about why his food isn't here, why are they taking so long. Of course as loud as possible. Then there is Kelsi yelling at Gabe for who knows what. Then they start climbing under the table, then over the table. Then jumping on the side of the table, talking to the people in front and behind us. Then they are coughing as loud and gross as possible. Gabe & Kelsi are burping as loud as possible and laughing... oh this is a good one, Jeff says' Gabe your being a pig, Gabe's remark: "No dad that burp did not sound like a pig at all" By this time Gabe rememered his fail safe to stop eating his dinner... dad I got to go to the bathroom, then Kelsi chimes in because her public restroom obsession is nagging her and she had to go so I told her no and then she throws a fit because "it's not fair that Gabe got to go to the bathroom and she dosen't" so to avoid the fight she went again. She also came to the table on her way back from the wrong direction so I am pretty sure she roamed the restaurant. By that time we are stuffing the food in our mouth just trying to get out of there. I want to know why these hostess like to put families like ours in the middle of the restaurant..... please put us back in a corner where no one can see or hear us or maybe we should just stay with McDonalds.

The kicker was as we were walking into Target later that night Kelsi asked us if we would buy her a treat because they acted so good. Hmmmm, let me think about that one.
